Sealed bids for the project entitled, STRUCTURAL REPAIRS TO FORMER HIGHWAY GARAGE, located at 6183-6223 Goodrich Road, Town of Clarence, New York will be received by the Town Clerk in the Town Clerk’s office in the Clarence Town Hall, Clarence, New York on or before 10:00 am local time on the 19th day of June, 2025 at which time they will be opened and read aloud in the Council Chambers, Clarence Town Hall, One Town Place, Clarence, New York.

The project ‘work’ is comprised of the repair and restoration of steel structural columns located in the previous Clarence Highway Garage. The project will involve repairing and restoring (3) structural steel bent columns and the replacement of (1) steel column at the East end wall near an overhead door. Included in the work will be minor masonry removals and restoration. The masonry work will be concentrated in and around the areas of the steel column repair due to limited access to column bases.

All proposals shall be submitted on the forms provided herein. Each bid shall be submitted in a sealed envelope that is clearly labeled STRUCTURAL REPAIRS TO FORMER HIGHWAY GARAGE and be addressed to: Karen Hawes, Town Clerk, One Town Place, Clarence, New York 14031.

A Pre-Bid meeting for interested Bidders is scheduled for June 5th, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. located at the former Highway Garage, 6183 – 6223 Goodrich Road, Town of Clarence, New York.

Proposals shall be made and received upon the following conditions:

Each proposal must be accompanied by the deposit of a certified check, payable to the order of the Town of Clarence, for a sum equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid amount conditioned that if the proposal is accepted, the successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work, and that they will execute within fifteen (15) days from the date of the acceptance of the proposal, a suitable security bond in the amount of the contract, conditioned for the faithful and prompt performance and completion of the work specified in the contract.

No bidder may withdraw their bid within (60) calendar days after the actual date of the opening thereof. It is the responsibility of each Bidder to establish themselves as an ‘eligible’ Bidder. In addition to other provisions set forth in the bid documents, each Bidder is required to understand that to be considered an ‘eligible’ Bidder, a Bidder must secure at least one set of bidding documents from the Avalon Planroom as previously described. Electronic copies of bidding documents will be made available at the Construction Exchange of Buffalo & WNY, Inc, 2660 Williams Street, Cheektowaga, New York 14227 for the additional convenience of Bidders.

Again, all Bidders are advised that no bid can be considered ‘eligible’ at the time of submission unless that bidder is registered as a bid document holder at the Avalon Planroom and secured at least one set of bid documents. Each bidder’s attention is called to the General Municipal Law, which requires a bidder’s Certificate of Non-Collusion, copies of such certificates are part of the proposal form and unless complied with, the bid will not be accepted.

All deposits except that of the successful bidder will be returned.

Upon acceptance of their bid, if the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract pursuant to the requirements of the Board, or fails to give further security prescribed in this notice, with the time limited therein, then the check deposited as aforesaid and the moneys standing to the credit of same, shall be forfeited to the Town as liquidated damages, or the payment of the bond enforced for the benefit of the Town. The Town of Clarence reserves the right to waive informalities in or to reject any and all bids.
